I got my proof copy of my book ‘Better Than Eleven’, the children’s poetry book.
There are a few mistakes I made that will be fixed before this goes on sale. I redesigned the cover as well, as it was printed with the cover art skewed to the left. I’m excited to share this book. I think it is fun and has some neat poetry in it.
Amazingly, this book took me about 3 weeks to write. The poetry just came to me. I haven’t experienced that before. I spent about 3 weeks writing nearly ten poems a day as well as organizing, outlining and generating images for the book. It took me about a month all together to get a proof copy ready and ordered. I have never done something so fast before. I was rather cathartic, in a sense, as I could just write and express the thoughts in my head. I feel like I was given clarity and help from heaven to write so fast. There is no other way for me to have been so inspired.
Here is a snippet of one of the poems in the book. It’s called Crackers and it is somewhat of an inside joke among my family as my nephew really liked crackers when he was young and would sing about eating saltines because he was so excited.
It’s a rather absurd poem, but it’s what came to me when I heard this story.
That’s all for now. Come back later to see more of my book and catch an early release date!
