And I write poetry. I wrote much as a teen and then continued writing as an adult. Many things have shaped me and the way I write. My two most recent books, “When One Became Two” and “Out to Sea: A Lonely Journey” were shaped by my divorce and some traumatic moments in my marriage. They contain much of my hurt and pain. My worry and insecurities. They are both very raw in terms of emotions. They both contain strong emotions and hard thoughts.
Given that this is the case I have also started a ‘happy’ poem project. I am calling it Poems of Hope which I hope to have the first volume published in January of 2025. It focuses on happy and hopeful things. I’ll give you a taste of one here:
‘What do we say
When someone we love
Loses their way
Properly, ‘I love you’
‘I care about you’
‘I am here for you’
When you are ready
I will be ready
And together we can walk this path
Where healing can begin
For the both
And love can bloom again’
I don’t have a title for this one yet. It is works like these that I am trying to write.
