I grew up in the vibrant city of Salt Lake City before moving around frequently during my childhood. My teen years were spent in the diverse landscapes of Houston, Texas, and Spokane, Washington, where I cultivated a deep appreciation for different cultures and communities. At 21, I embarked on a life-changing journey, serving a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the beautiful country of Honduras, Central America. This experience profoundly shaped my perspective on life, love, and faith.
After returning home in September 2007, I married the love of my life just a year later. Sadly, 14 years later, we divorced, but still keep in touch. This experience directly translated into my latest book – When One Became Two: Stories of Loss and Heartbreak. There is a warm part of my heart that still loves her. Maybe in another life we will meet again and make better choices that will keep us together.
My academic journey led me to Spokane Community College and later to Eastern Washington University, where I pursued studies in Spanish language—a reflection of my passion for connecting with people and understanding diverse cultures.
My professional career has been a rich tapestry of experiences, spanning customer service, retail, and fast food. These roles have honed my skills in communication and problem-solving, eventually leading me to an engineering position at a local IT/Communications company. In this role, I continue to grow and apply my technical expertise in a dynamic industry.
Family, faith, and spirituality are the cornerstones of my life. I cherish every moment spent with my loved ones and draw immense strength from my religious beliefs. Writing poetry is my true passion—a way for me to express the deepest emotions and thoughts that flow from my heart. Whether it’s musing on life’s wonders, reflecting on love, or contemplating the divine, my poetry is a heartfelt exploration of the human experience.
